Human Rights, Access to Justice & Democratic Governance
Strengthening Access to Justice and Accountable Governance
As a community based human rights organization in Kenya, we protect and promote
human rights, strengthen access to justice, and advance accountable democratic
governance systems. We work to ensure that communities, including refugees, asylum
seekers, displaced people, and other vulnerable groups, can realize their rights, access
protection and justice mechanisms, and participate meaningfully in civic life.
Why This Work Matters
Throughout Kenya, numerous vulnerable populations such as refugees, asylum seekers, women, children, youth, stateless individuals, and marginalized communities encounter obstacles to justice, have limited access to legal assistance, and are often excluded from civic engagement.
In the absence of legal safeguards and transparent governance:
- Rights are infringed
- Social inequality grows worse
- Conflicts can intensify
- Public trust in institutions diminishes
