Communities for Africa Network Kenya (CAN-K), in partnership with Wakili Murithi M’Nkubitu, supported the Mashinani Free Medical Camps in Maua, delivering integrated community outreach alongside essential health services.
Beyond medical care, CAN-K provided legal aid (with a strong focus on land rights and succession), gender-based violence (GBV) support, peacebuilding dialogue, and mental health services.
The outreach revealed key challenges affecting the community, including land disputes, domestic and gender-based violence, substance abuse, and mental health concerns linked to stress, conflict, and economic hardship.
This initiative highlighted the importance of holistic, community-centered approaches that address the interconnected nature of health, legal, and social issues strengthening resilience and access to support at the grassroots level.
